Softball Ministry Mission Statement
Adopted 4/15/2000
Cornerstone Baptist Church and its property, including our softball field complex, have been dedicated to the Glory of God. This statement specifically addresses our goal of reaching people through the softball ministry.
So on that basis, we will constantly strive to be good stewards of the physical property and of the mission opportunity presented by this ministry.
This means that we will take care of the property and maintain it in a first class condition, with attention to safety and utility.
This means that we will respect all the people who are part of this ministry. From spectators, to officials, to church leaders to coaches, to players...from our church and elsewhere...we will love and respect everyone with the love of Jesus Christ.
Stewardship also demands that we recognize, acknowledge, and protect the integrity of every person who comes out to participate in good faith. No one will be subjected to ridicule, danger, or a poor witness of our Christian faith.
All practices and games will include prayer expressing our desire for God's guidance and direction, as well as our desire to behave in a manner that reflects our spirit-filled walk with the Lord.
We will all practice vigilance and watchfulness and will work immediately to resolve misunderstandings and disputes so that satan does not ever have an opportunity to divide our fellowship or tarnish our witness.
Regardless of the score of any game at any time, everyone who participates is automatically a winner. And the durability of our Christian witness and our outreach with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is more important than any recreational ball game.
May this field and this ministry lead many precious people to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ so that it will make an eternal a difference tn the lives of all of us.
